After much hard work on the part of DPW and Edible Campus Program students and staff over the course of several years, the Student Farm has finally broken ground and development is underway.
With donations from the Johnson Ohana Foundation and the tireless efforts of many members of the UCSB campus community, the vision that so many worked for is coming to fruition.
Chancellor Yang, Jack and Kim Johnson, many vice chancellors, distinguished community members, as well as DPW and ECP students were in attendance at the Groundbreaking Ceremony which took place on October 10th, 2018.
The farm is expected to up and running by Spring Quarter, and we could not be more excited!
DPW will have an integral role in maintaining the farm and producing nutricious food for the AS Food Bank.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates as this project develops further!
